Conflict Material Compliances

Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act requires certain corporations to report the use of “Conflict Minerals” in the manufacture of their products. Generally, Conflict Minerals collectively refers to cassiterite, columbite-tantalite, gold, wolframite, or their derivatives, including tantalum, tin and tungsten, which originate from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or specified adjoining countries (referred to as “Covered Countries”).

As with most electronic products, DSM&T’s contain various metals, including tin, and gold, (part of the so-called ‘3TG’ tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold) which originate from around the world. The 3TG metals have become known as ‘conflict minerals’ because they are sourced in part from the eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

While DSM&T is a privately held corporation, and not subject to the Conflict Minerals rules and reporting requirements, we understand that our customers may be and we are committed to helping our customers comply with their reporting requirements. Periodically we conduct surveys of our suppliers, to ascertain / update their use of any Conflict Minerals in the materials they supply to us. The result of the surveys are our suppliers (i) do not use Conflict Minerals in the materials they supply to us, (ii) have no reason to believe the Conflict Minerals they use may have originated in the Covered Countries.

Based on the information provided by our suppliers, and to the best of our knowledge, DSM&T Co., Inc. designates that DSM&T Co., Inc. products are Compliant and conform to Dodd-Frank Section 1502 Conflict Materials restriction of 3TG from the DRC.

For these purposes, Conflict Materials Compliant means that:

Our suppliers have confirmed the compliance status of the relevant products to us.

We have implemented processes to confirm suppliers’ statements and maintain relevant documents.

If product(s) contain “CSM” Customer Supplied Materials, DSM&T is not responsible for any claims pertaining to the CSM.

This certification is subject to change without notice and supersedes any previous issue. The latest revision is available by contacting DSM&T Co., Inc. DSM&T’s sole liability for incorrectly certifying a product shall be either replacement of the DSM&T product or, alternatively and in the sole discretion of DSM&T, return of the purchase price paid for the relevant DSM&T product.
